The Thomasville History Center and Lapham-Patterson House opening their doors for a special free afternoon of history and exploration on Sunday, May 2 in partnership with the Georgia Historical Society’s annual Super Museum Sunday. On that day, more than 50 sites across the state will offer free admission to guests at historic sites, museums, and cultural institutions. A list of participating sites can be found at georgiahistoryfestival.org and more sites are being added daily. We encourage you to review our site’s COVID-19 protocols before your arrival by visiting thomasvillehistory.org/visit to ensure the best experience.
The Thomasville History Center’s historic buildings and grounds will open for self-guided tours between Noon and 4pm. Guests may also view a special temporary exhibit celebrating Thomasville’s centennial Rose Show & Festival including Rose Queen gowns, and other Rose Festival items from our collections. The remainder of the History Center’s exhibits remains closed to the public as we put on the finishing touches on our updated exhibit spaces in other areas of the Flowers-Roberts House.
The Lapham-Patterson House will be open for self-guided tours between Noon and 4 pm. Scavenger hunts featuring architectural items and décor will be available for all ages.
