Hands-On Heritage Workshop: Felted Wool Ornaments
December 7 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm$25 – $30
Join us in crafting holiday cheer at the Lapham-Patterson House this December as the Thomasville History Center presents Hands-On Heritage: Felted Wool Ornaments on Saturday, December 7 at 10am. The Lapham-Patterson House will be decorated for the holiday season as a part of our annual “Deck the Halls” initiative that invites local community members, organizations, and students to adopt a corner of the Lapham-Patterson House and install a holiday mantle, tree, or tablescape. To participate in Deck the Halls, please contact us at email@example.com.
Bobbie Golden, owner of Golden Acres Ranch in Monticello, FL, will lead participants in the process to transform wool into festive ornaments shaped like snowmen. Wool used in this workshop will be sourced from Gulf Coast Native sheep raised at Golden’s ranch. Participants will also receive enough materials and inspiration for an additional ornament that can be created outside of the workshop. To participate, please register online or call 229-226-7664. This workshop is open to all skill levels.
Registration fees are $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Parking is available behind the Lapham-Patterson House using the Webster Street access at the rear of the property.
Bobbie Golden is a goat and sheep rancher from Monticello Florida. The Gulf Coast Native sheep she raises provide the wool for many projects. Bobbie processes her own sheared wool and has made dryer balls, welt felted scarves and slippers. However, needle felting Christmas Ornaments is a favorite.
