Summer is almost here and the Thomasville History Center is ready to welcome campers back for another fun-filled session of Camp Dawson. This year, we’re trying something new. The History Center will welcome rising 1st through rising 6th graders for 3 stand-alone camp days inspired by the fun and exploration of Camp Dawson. Campers can register for one or all of the days and will experience different activities inspired by a historical period each day.
Taking into consideration the safety of campers and volunteers, the 3-standalone adventures into the past will allow for a day in between each for us to clean shared spaces and materials and prepare for the next day. Each day will have a maximum registration of 16 campers who will be divided by age: 1st -3rd graders and 4th-6th graders. Each group will experience parallel, age-appropriate activities across our property. Camp will begin at 9am and end at 4pm. To arrange for early drop-off (beginning at 8am) please contact the History Center directly. Campers will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Registration fees: $60 per day. Includes all activity materials and snacks. Campers must provide their own lunch and a refillable water bottle.
History Center members receive priority registration through May 14.
Scholarship applications are available from the History Center and are due May 14.
