Educational opportunities provided by the Thomasville History Center is moving full “S.T.E.A.H.M” ahead to encourage learners of all ages to get hands-on with history in a variety of ways. Whether a curriculum-based program like classroom outreaches, travel trunks, and field trips, or independent discovery through a Make History or Hands-On Heritage workshop, the Thomasville History Center believes that everyone can be active consumers and producers of history. It’s our job to help you on your journey!

DEEP DIVES

Educator-facilitated outreach programs &
Digital, primary source-based games designed to give students a closer look at the past and encourage critical thinking skills.

INDEPENDENT EXPLORERS

deep dive (4)-min

Borrow one of our 5 travel trunks complete with reproduction artifacts, suggested activities, and a resource book encompassing current Standards of Excellence for that subject.

HISTORY HANGOUTS

Explore the History Center’s expansive grounds and historic buildings, including the Lapham-Patterson House, with a staff-facilitated tour.

Visits are approximately 2 hours and include 3 activity rotations.
