Our Educational Programs
Education programs provided by the Thomasville History Center encourage students to engage with the past through primary source-based workshops, enrich classroom curriculum with travel trunks, explore the History Center or Lapham-Patterson House, and immerse themselves in the games, crafts, and history of our community. Which Should I Choose?
We invite you to consider an outreach program where we bring the Museum to you! Our outreach programs encourage students to engage with primary sources, artifacts, and interactive activities with the added bonus of our Educator’s facilitation.
Our Travel Trunks are currently undergoing an update! As we work to make our curriculum correlations more current and improve the design of the trunk materials, please contact our Educator to schedule an outreach program.
Each program incorporates the current Georgia Standards for Excellence for Social Studies, Grades 2-12. Our programs begin with a 10-minute introduction to local history topics. Instructors can choose three “rotations ” including the Lapham-Patterson House.
